[ NO BUT THIS IS THE CUTEST THING!!! but not her totally forgetting about what time of year it was, even while here in karteria. she hadn't even thought of it being the new year already! oh no, this is absolutely horrid on her part. she hadn't even thought about gifts!
instead, wriothesley gets a short text in return. ]
Oooo, you! I hadn't remembered it was Lantern Rite until just now! Please forgive me that a suitable gift isn't ready at the precise moment because of just that.
But, you haven't worn out your welcome, and the gifts are incredibly thoughtful. Please extend my thanks to Monsieur Neuvillette.
With everything that’s happened this month—and what’s still unfolding now—even Neuvillette and I nearly let the dates slip past us. And while the celebration might feel a little out of place at the moment, we thought it best to fold our thank-you gifts and new-year well wishes together. It felt like the right way to show our gratitude.
Rest assured, Neuvillette is very grateful for your kindness, and the same goes for me.
And no need to rush the gifts, especially with all the chaos going on; we’ll be staying put.
You know, I might actually take a page or two out of your playbook when it comes to gift-giving. I quite like the idea of folding a handful of sentiments into one gift and seeing where that takes me.
And coming from you, it’s an endearing approach—one Neuvillette and I look forward to in our own way.
All jokes aside, though, how’s the doom and gloom treating you so far? I’d say the dark this time is far more oppressive than anything we dealt with during the Solstice season.
It's a good idea! It's one way I can get away with spending a nice amount of mora on someone and they don't get upset when I say it's for multiple occasions.
[ has navia fibbed in order to give nice presents just because? maybe. does she have any regrets? never. ]
It's uh... well, I'll just be honest. The moment I stepped outside it felt like I was being suffocated, and then I ended up pushing myself far too much and I ended up at Dan Feng's clinic. I couldn't just let people get hurt, but I overdid it.
I do have to wonder whether the price tag would truly match the weight if you ever showed up with a gift meant to make up for, oh, let’s say... a birthday, Lantern Rite, and Solstice all at once. Do you think they would still be open to accepting it after you have more or less skimped on gifts for the better half of the year?
I can only imagine the look you would get. Hah.
Still, if you made the trip from your place all the way out to Water’s Edge, then I will have to insist you at least drop by whenever you're in the area. For whatever reason or occasion, and with everything that has been going on, even Neuvillette would want you over if he were able to speak up.
I wouldn't just combine several large occasions like that! That's just being lazy!
And yes, I'll make the trip all the way out to Water's Edge. I promise, it's not a hassle to come over, especially now the haze has gone away. Thankfully, I'm no longer at the clinic. I feel bad for taking up a space that should have been used for someone who actually needed it.
[ hush. don't you dare say anything. ]
Speaking of said doom and gloom, did the two of you fare alright?
Then if worst comes to worst, especially if I'm at a loss for finding the perfect gift, I'll make sure the reasons to celebrate fall relatively close together. Haha.
But after my bout of madness, Dan Feng asked me to drop by for regular check-ups. It's a shame we always seem to miss running into each other by a hair.
Though as for the past couple of days, Neuvillette is the one most affected this time around. He's shifted into a smaller form and has been scuttling about in a mild panic, but it's nothing I can't corral with a few warm blankets and the promise of hugs in tow.
Oh, and that offer extends to you as well, I hope you know.

And, should the two of you need it, I can bring over anything you might need.

Are you still at the clinic?
