✉ SENDING OUR THANKS AND WELL WISHES FOR THE NEW YEAR
► inside the red envelope rests an assortment of pristine seashells, sand dollars, and sea glass; also accompanied by other odd little curiosities—which are mostly old coins and strange mechanical parts.

â–ş a second package also includes a large center piece of flowers as well as a hand-felted scarf as winter slowly gives way to spring.

NAVIA,

HOPEFULLY I HAVEN’T WORN OUT MY WELCOME BY THANKING YOU AGAIN. THE TWO OF US ARE DOING BETTER WITH EACH DAY.

STILL, WE BOTH THINK LANTERN RITE ARRIVED AT A FITTING TIME—EVEN IN KARTERIA—A REMINDER THAT EVEN AFTER DIFFICULT STRETCHES, THERE’S STILL WARMTH WAITING FOR US. SO WE HOPE YOU FIND THAT SENTIMENT IN THIS GIFT.

With everything that’s happened this month—and what’s still unfolding now—even Neuvillette and I nearly let the dates slip past us. And while the celebration might feel a little out of place at the moment, we thought it best to fold our thank-you gifts and new-year well wishes together. It felt like the right way to show our gratitude.

Rest assured, Neuvillette is very grateful for your kindness, and the same goes for me.

And no need to rush the gifts, especially with all the chaos going on; we’ll be staying put.

You know, I might actually take a page or two out of your playbook when it comes to gift-giving. I quite like the idea of folding a handful of sentiments into one gift and seeing where that takes me.

And coming from you, it’s an endearing approach—one Neuvillette and I look forward to in our own way.

All jokes aside, though, how’s the doom and gloom treating you so far? I’d say the dark this time is far more oppressive than anything we dealt with during the Solstice season.

I do have to wonder whether the price tag would truly match the weight if you ever showed up with a gift meant to make up for, oh, let’s say... a birthday, Lantern Rite, and Solstice all at once. Do you think they would still be open to accepting it after you have more or less skimped on gifts for the better half of the year?

I can only imagine the look you would get. Hah.

Still, if you made the trip from your place all the way out to Water’s Edge, then I will have to insist you at least drop by whenever you're in the area. For whatever reason or occasion, and with everything that has been going on, even Neuvillette would want you over if he were able to speak up.

Are you still at the clinic?

Then if worst comes to worst, especially if I'm at a loss for finding the perfect gift, I'll make sure the reasons to celebrate fall relatively close together. Haha.

But after my bout of madness, Dan Feng asked me to drop by for regular check-ups. It's a shame we always seem to miss running into each other by a hair.

Though as for the past couple of days, Neuvillette is the one most affected this time around. He's shifted into a smaller form and has been scuttling about in a mild panic, but it's nothing I can't corral with a few warm blankets and the promise of hugs in tow.

Oh, and that offer extends to you as well, I hope you know.
